Looking back through my outfit archives from this year... A lot has changed, and a lot is still the same. All in all I'd say 2010 was a pretty okay year.
I'm more excited for 2011 than any other year - I am almost one hundred percent certain it is going to be the best! Happy New Year!

Ribbons and Autumn Leaves

An outfit post! How exciting! It's a little old, but I'm still obsessed with this necklace and the matching earrings that I got from my mother. They're gold, which isn't usually my thing, but they're absolutely fantastic. I love them.
I tied a knot in this ribbon to make it a bit more interesting... I like it at least.

Currently snowed in at home; I don't know if I've ever seen this much snow. It's good for snowballs, but not too good for sledding, which I prefer, so I've mostly been staying inside and watching Misfits online. It's very addicting.

Tree Stumps

Avery and I watched the lunar eclipse together the other night. It was super cool. In the morning, we took pictures that turned out surprisingly well for our lack of sleep. We also worked on some cute videos, but as of right now I'm having technical difficulties with them.
I proceeded to wear this outfit to a late lunch. (Important note: I have pants! Look!)

Late Fall

(Target v-neck and cardigan, Kimchi Blue lace skirt, Ann Marino heels, scarf "borrowed" from my mother)It's a what-I-wore-today video! The song is "Boneless" by the Notwist. This scarf is fantastic; I don't intend to return it to my mother. Hopefully she'll forget that I borrowed it.
Although it is still technically fall, it doesn't seem like it anymore since we had that snow last week, and it's been unfathomably cold this week.
Also, I got a haircut yesterday - what do you think? I'll have to wash it and see how it does without blowdrying before I make up my mind.

The First Snow

Today it snowed! I made this little video in commemoration. I'm wearing a sweater I stole from my mother as a dress, vintage belt, and the new-to-me rain boots I bought yesterday for $12 at a consignment shop downtown. Oh, and the velvet gloves were a gift last year.
The song is "Ice Skating" from the A Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack.

Etudie

(Nonpareils top, Portland Nightlife skirt, North Highlands cardigan, Run Burgundy heels, all from Modcloth)This is one of my favorite outfit creations to date. I feel like it's something to wear to study at the library - with a cute boy. (That's why I threw in some books, too.) Of course, you and said boy will be going out for coffee after. This is currently my motivation to finish writing the essays I mentioned before - due Monday, ahh!
In conclusion, add all of these things to my shopping list: dark red cardigan, perfect crisp white ruffled button up, this skirt, high heeled oxfords

Flu shot

Here's a couple of outfits I created today whilst writing, or at least trying to write, college application essays before going to get a flu shot. (The stuff is all from Modcloth by the way.) I really, really want the first one right about now. I could really use a sweater this color. ...whoa, deja vu! I feel like this time last year I blogged about wanting a green sweater like that. And I still haven't gotten one! How unfortunate. ...Anyway, the second one is a bit more colorful and it's not my usual taste but I like it quite a lot.
An update on the broken camera: still broken. I got in a new piece yesterday but it turns out that wasn't the problem because it still isn't working. Argh! So frustrating!

Dutch

Cat skirt made by me, Nollie sweater, Kimchi Blue bootsI learned how to do a dutch braid one day last week at rehearsal. This was my first one, so it's a bit sloppy, plus this was the end of the day so it was all messed up. I've got a lot to improve on with it, but I'm a fan.
In my Systems class we had to make a business plan, and mine was selling skirts similar to this one. Everyone in class wanted to buy one (well, the girls at least) and I even had a random freshman ask me about it too! I don't know how she even found out about it.

As much as an apple doth an oyster

It's fun to wear sometimes, but you really need the right occasion, which I have yet to find. It's not comfortable, as I'm sure you can tell. This is a really old outfit that I forgot to share with you.
Happy Halloween! I didn't get the chance to really dress up this year (at school on Friday I was Mrs. White from Clue, with a couple friends as the other characters) because of all the business involved with Taming of the Shrew. We just ended today. Phew! It was exhausting but really a lot of fun.

Sun it is not

1. It was opening night for The Taming of the Shrew, and I was told to dress up. I take that literally (as Barney from How I Met Your Mother "suits up," I "dress up") because I'm considered dressed up usually.
2. It was opening night for The Taming of the Shrew, and I was exhausted. Therefore, a simple black dress and flats.
3. It was opening night for The Taming of the Shrew, and I was inspired to put on this big red belt by the Commedia dell'arte version that we are putting on. Our version is similar to this one, if you're curious. That's not the best clip from that performance, but it'll do. Lots of slapstick humor, very funny!

Fannie Heck

We were going to go to a movie, but somehow we managed to get lost, so instead we hit up a Starbucks and took some photos in the rain.

English Dramas

State Fair

I'm in the mood for tons of photos, including some silly ones, representing tons of fun at the fair yesterday. This is what I wore, and I'm almost certain that I was the only person wearing a skirt there! I was perfectly comfortable on all the rides though. And I realized fall really has arrived - it got really cold after around nine or ten o'clock.
It's always so interesting to see all the different people at the fair. Since I'm from the capital city area, even in a southern state, I'm not all that southern. But people who come to the fair will sometimes come from hours and hours away! I'm talking thick accents, tons of camouflage and insane amounts of barbeque. Those are the people who stare at my cat skirt in confusion as we pass each other.
The vertical drop ride is insanely scary, by the way. I was so scared that I couldn't even scream. Going up, I was just fine, but then we sat there for a minute, way up in the air, several stories high. That's when I started to freak out, and then we dropped. Oh man! It was fun though! All the rides are fun. I think the Zipper might have been my favorite.
